This was one of the early links Ripley suggested I listen to: Russell Watson & Haley Westenra, Pokarekare Ana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKJBjZPpC7E

Guilty! I am a woman in love with Russell Watson and Haley Westernra!
Was pleasantly surprised that another kiwi artist would grab my attention beyond Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, but Haley has it!
The computer had been temporarily moved to the back pond, and is almost completely dried out now, so I will leave you all with the video that comes to mind after a work week from heck and even though I don't do alot of country, adore this song...

I was sure that you or Ripley would have got just who they were in the Who are we (http://www.landzdown.com/index.php?topic=26187.0)

So you know Toby Keith? My little grandson just loves him.... too! :Hammys pint:
He will be fascinated that I talked to someone that actually knows him! :thumbsup:
Yes I know his whole family, when he first started, as a garage band, he did not have a garage so I let them use my living room to practice in. I also let them use my van to go to their "gigs", I did travel with them a lot since it was my vehicle. Know him very very well, he has played at a lot of our private parties. I am very happy he made it and is so successful now, he is good people.

my tastes in music range wildly.
i despise poorly done music, and applaud talented artists.
most of these pop kiddy bands have no talent, cannot play their instrument.
look at former beetle paul mccartney, he can play anything and play it well. he is a musician & a composer.

Come by the hills to the land where fancy is free.
And stand where the peaks meet the sky and the loughs meet the sea,
Where the rivers run clear and the bracken is gold in the sun;
And the cares of tomorrow can wait till this day is done.
Come by the hills to the land where life is a song.
And stand where the birds fill the air with their joy all day long,
Where the trees sway in time and even the wind sings in tune;
And, the cares of tomorrow can wait till this day is done.
Come by the hills to the land where legend remains.
The stories of old, fill the heart and may yet come again,
Where the past has been lost and the future is still to be won;
And, the cares of tomorrow can wait till this day is done.
And, the cares of tomorrow can wait till this day is done.

Lyrics in english (Google translation):
Is it really peace that we want?
For every possible price
Are we quite sure of that?
The worst of all is war
With law shall the land be built on
and the law requires peace
So to those who take power and gold
be able to earn even more
So is it really peace that we want?
For every possible price
Are we quite sure of that?
The worst of all is war
With peace, the victor
and he has fought and fought
get on with your knees bent and your head low
and receive the strong peace
So is it really peace that we want?
For every possible price
Are we quite sure of that?
The worst of all is war
With silence comes peace
ever held in hand
And the peoples and countries intersected
the consensus name
So is it really peace that we want?
For every possible price
Are we quite sure of that?
The worst of all is war.....

It would be great if someone would press some of their early records again in vinyl :breakkie: . It's really great music - just a shame I wasn't listening to music at that time them guys were around :blink:

Hi :) ,
Great song from U2 back in the mid eighties, Wolfeymule. It one of them songs that will be remembered. I don't know what they are doing, but it's long time since I have heard anything new from them. But still a great band.
I Was Listening to the Irish radiostation RTÉ Gold an evening back in January and they played this song "Friends In Time: with the Irish Band The Golden Horde. This song reminds me a bit of Fleetwood Mac's song "Go Your Own Way"- also a great song. I believe that the song Friends In Time is a soundtrack to a film, because The Golden Horde's style is usually somewhat like Punk/Rock, but this song has absolutely nothing to do with punk/rock. The song is from 1991 recorded by the label - Mother Records.
The song is also performed by Ronan Keating.
Enjoy! :)
