Title: hard drives very close together- safe?
Post by: babyoh on February 24, 2009, 10:50:32 AM
i have several internal notebook hd's- i've very carefully aligned them side-by-side, in electro-static baggies, in a drawer.

question- is this bad, due to magnets from one, affecting the others, etc?
this may be a dumb question, but i really have no idea.

thanx.

babyoh,

I have 5 hard drives that are stored in an old camera case and all that separate them is the small amount of hard form that used to separate my cameras lenses and I have not lost any data from any of the drives stored within the case,

should be fine.   especially with the anti static bags.
look at the inside of any pc, the slots for the hd's are right on top of each other...
