:rose:
i tried installing a mcafee firewall some years ago, but it had some violent shoot-out ** :Win73: ** with norton anti-virus (which was bundled "free" onto my laptop.) shaken by all the flashing "VIRUS ALERT - McAFEE IS ATTACKING!" etc, i uninstalled all of mcaffee's firewall and got a norton firewall. (after a McAf "uninstall", i had to manually pick out and delete some things, as norton kept finding them, and they wouldn't "uninstall" just by me clicking for them to.)
ANYWAY...
i noticed THIS when i ran a HighjackThis Log:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MPFTray] C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee.com\PERSON~1\MpfTray.exe
QUESTION -- Is it safe for me to "FIX" this by checking FIX in HijackT? ...is it better if I VIEW HIDDEN, and delete the entire folder by hand?
THANKS :rose:
Hi, babyoh. It is best if you ask that question in your HJT log thread. If you are removing things since your last log post, please provide a fresh HJT log for review.
Thanks. :rose:
babyoh ...
FYI, fixing an O4 item with HJT will not delete the file from your computer, only prevent it from running when you boot up.
