Post by: GR@PH;<'S on October 21, 2009, 05:58:44 PM
Ok My copy of Windows 7 came yeaterday and was wondering who else has took the plundge!

I think that PC World must have been paniced thinking that royal mail would be on strike this week,
that they would have had 1,000's of angry people knocking at there door wanting there copy of Windows 7

Windows 7 has amazing new functionality!  Been using Windows 7 since the beta and will upgrade to final version.

Recommendation:  Check for any drivers or software updates needed at the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=42B5AC83-C24F-4863-A389-3FFC194924F8&displaylang=en)

Windows 7 web site refreshed today: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/default.aspx

i have had win 7 since ms had that free-for-a-year download (due to expire oct 2010...)

it is indeed faster than vista but retains all its eye candy.

ms has a winner in win 7.
but how many people will give up their fuzzy warm copy of xp and buy it?

Temmu,
Quoteit is indeed faster than vista but retains all its eye candy.
I agree it does mind you it is a tad strange using my other PC now as I love the new taskbar.

unfortunately, when the xp updates stop... you will indeed have to do something else.
win 7 comes to mind
but
so does linux.  try pclinuxos, for example.
