There are occasions when the only way to solve a problem is to completely remove all traces and reinstall the program. Although this step is very seldom needed with WinPatrol, the steps are provided below.
REGISTRY DISCLAIMER:
Important: The steps below include information on modifying the registry. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, it is strongly advised that you back up the registry before any modifications. Then, if a problem occurs, the registry can be restored.

WinPatrol PLUS Note:
Important: The steps below will remove your WinPatrol PLUS Username and Registration Code from memory. Before going further, launch WinPatrol and click the PLUS tab. Write down your Username and Reg Code.
Instructions:
- Download the latest version of WinPatrol from http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html.
- Right-click Scotty in the system tray and select Exit Program.
- Navigate to Add/Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Windows 7) and Uninstall Win Patrol (PLUS users note: make sure you have written down your name and PLUS Code.).
- Click Yes to restore delayed programs to their original status.
- Navigate to Program Files and delete the BillP Studios folder.
- Navigate to the appropriate Application Data location, where %User% is the user name and delete the WinPatrol folder:
(Note: AppData is a hidden folder. See Show hidden files (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Show-hidden-files) for instructions to display hidden files and folders.)
Windows XP -- C:\Documents and settings\%User%\Application Data
Windows Vista and Windows 7 -- C:\Users\%User%\AppData\Roaming\

Click Start and type regedit in the search box. Launch regedit.exe and carefully navigate to and delete the following key, confirming deletion when prompted: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BillP Studios - Empty the Recycle Bin.
- Shutdown/restart the computer.
- Install WinPatrol.

I have created a single WinPatrol Remove program which cleans up all the entries created in the registry (including the one previously mentioned) and all the files in our Program Files folders.
Ironically, the exefile registry entry could have been removed on the WinPatrol options tab by unchecking the Explorer Integration option.
Ultimately, all the features of the new stand alone WinPatrolRemove.exe will be integrated properly into our normal Add/Remove/Uninstall applet. I will also be creating a WinPatrolRepair.exe program that will allow folks to fix individual requests without having to Uninstall WinPatrol.
For now however you can go to http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html and click on the WinPatrol Removal Program.
