Hi,
I've just started to experience a problem whereby every time I turn my printer on, I get an error message :c\windows\system32\services.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 1073741819.
I've noticed other posts on this forum and didn't know whether to add to those or start a new one so apologies if I've posted incorrectly.
I've checked my system with Malwarebytes and Super Antispyware and it comes up clean.
Any ideas ?
Paul
Hi, Frosty65. Welcome to LandzDown.
Did you make any changes to the printer -- perhaps updated the driver -- or installed any other software recently that may be conflicting with the printer?
Note: When you get the countdown notice, click Start > Run, and enter "shutdown -a" (without the quotation marks). This will abort the shutdown.
In order to further analyze your problem, please post the logs requested here: Log Posting Instructions (http://www.landzdown.com/index.php/topic,423.0.html).
What OS are you running?
Can you think of anything you did just before this problem occurred? Windows Updates, driver update (as Corrine inquired about), installed new software, etc.
From my understanding, the common scenario is Windows XP using an HP printer (or some printer, but I'm seeing HP in the search results) via USB on a port that's not USB 2.0 capable.
In addition to winchester73's question on what OS you're using, it might be helpful to know what computer you're using, and what printer you're using.
Hi,
Running Windows XP and a Canon Pixma MP980.
I'm aware of the "shutown -a" workaround thanks to this forum
No other updates have been made lately.
I'll read the "log posting instructions" and when this occurs again (I'll turn the printer on real soon), will post the log.
Thank you.
Paul
I don't know if the logs will help, just hoping they'll provide a clue.
