Online Banking and Endpoint Security Report to assess the efficacy of range of products against a man in the browser (MitB) attack, as used by real financial malware.
17 dedicated Endpoint Financial Fraud Prevention and Anti-Keylogging Applications,
and 15 Anti Malware and Internet Security Applications,
were tested. Only 8 products (4 in each of the above two categories) passed. Full report (with results):

Comment: I'll let the results speak for themselves, as "This article or any part of it must not be published or reproduced without the consent of the copyright holder." A caveat suffices: be sure to take note of the particular version of the product being tested. For example, in Avast's case, it was [the PAID] Internet Security 7.0, which includes secure browser functionality (SafeZoneā¢) that's NOT offered in the FREE version.
Thanks, ky331. I can understand free programs but would have expected better performance by licensed/paid programs.
