Post by: Corrine on March 25, 2013, 05:32:30 PM
There have been a lot of complaints about the Windows 8 Mail app.  Although it appears there are still some missing features, there are also welcome updates, particularly to the Mail app, actually bringing it closer to Outlook.com.  Some of the changes include:

Additional information is available in Ed Bott's article at Windows 8 Mail, People, Calendar apps get minor (but welcome) updates (http://www.zdnet.com/windows-8-mail-people-calendar-apps-get-minor-but-welcome-updates-7000013051/) and the Windows blog article, The Mail, Calendar and People apps are getting better! (http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/windowsexperience/archive/2013/03/25/the-mail-calendar-and-people-apps-are-getting-better.aspx).

In case you didn't know, from the Windows blog (http://"http://blogs.windows.com/windows/b/windowsexperience/archive/2013/03/25/the-mail-calendar-and-people-apps-are-getting-better.aspx"):
QuoteBy default, the Mail app only keeps email messages within a two-week timeframe. This is done in order to preserve disk space and battery life on your device, and you can always change that setting. However with the update to the Mail app, you can now search for email on the server making it easy to find any email message you might be looking for.

To check for the updated app manually, go to Windows Store, click Settings charm, click App Updates, Check for Updates.
