Hi Bill.
There is this program for cleaning bars and adware garbage call AdwCleaner (http://general-changelog-team.fr/en/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner) that is used in a few sites for removing malware, like in Avast! Forums. Well, AdwCleaner is detecting the InstallMate folder and removing it. Even though the folder recreates itselft on reboot, the file setup.dat does not. This file seems vital to uninstall WinPatrol.

Hi, Hernan.
Thank you for the report.
In checking, I see that the Junkware Removal Tool (JRT) by Thisisu also removes InstallMate. I sent contacted both Xplode and Thisisu. Both AdwCleaner and JRT are excellent tools and have been extremely useful when helping to clean people's computers.
I don't know if there will be a problem whitelisting InstallMate as I do not know if it is used to create installers for nefarious programs.
Personally, I no longer find it necessary to uninstall WinPatrol when updating to a new version. However, I understand the problem with the InstallMate folder being removed.
Thisisu responded that as of JRT v5.1.1 the InstallMate folder will no longer be removed. I haven't heard from Xplode yet.
Thanks Corrine for asking around.

No, no problem either since one can reinstall WP on top or use the removal tool. Just letting you know so Bill, or in this case you, can get in touch with AdwCleaner to whitelist Installmate.
Thank you again.
XPlode responded that he will remove InstallMate from AdwCleaner in the next update.
