Title: Malwarebytes Detects InstallMate
Post by: Corrine on August 14, 2013, 10:59:03 PM
It was reported elsewhere that Malwarebytes detected WinPatrol files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\InstallMate\ which includes the setup.dat file.

The information for the current version 28 of WinPatrol is C:\Users\All Users\InstallMate\{4BB7A109-FDB5-45E3-9DB9-ECB2EA7B80EE}.  Earlier versions will have a different identification (e.g., C:\Users\All Users\InstallMate\{A62F9CD0-B2E0-4F2A-88F2-79254A3C8539}).

If the InstallMate files are identified as a PUP (potentially unwanted program) in a scan by Malwarebytes, you can uncheck the files so they will not be removed.  Otherwise, it will be necessary to download a fresh copy of WinPatrol if you wish to uninstall it or use the WinPatrol Removal Tool, available from http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html
