Title: Smart Phone issues regarding "root" access
Post by: BigBaby on January 10, 2014, 12:25:11 AM
I'm not sure anyone here can answer smart phone questions.  I have an android and will give all the specifics if someone knows anything about having "root access denied" issues.  I'm trying to activate a video chat app.

Thanks!

You have to root your phone first before you can have root access on an Android phone.

I use an iPhone so I don't personally have experience with it, but a good friend of mine has rooted his and here's some instructions in how to root an Android phone:

lilbambi's right.
you basically break the security, granting yourself "root" privileges.
root is the user in unix-like systems that has full authority - they can do whatever they please to the file structure & configuration. it's like being a "local administrator" of your home pc.
