I installed version 32.0.2014.5 on 21/07 from a standard user account. It installed OK and showed the new Scottie but when I logged into my Administrator account it showed the old version with yellow Scottie running.
Now logging in two days later I've got the opposite, the old version running in my standard user account and the new version running in my Administrator account.
Programs and Features list show one entry for WinPatrol 32.0.2014.5
How can I sort this out?
Dell Optiplex 755, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3MHz, 4gb RAM, Intel GMA 3100 Video, 300GB HD Maxtor CDRW/DVD, Win 7 Home Premium 32bit, Win 7 Firewall, Avast 2014(Free), WinPatrol+, MBAM(Free), Microsoft MSRT, Pale Moon(AdBlockPlus, DoNotTrackPlus, WOT), IE11
Under C:\Program Files [for a 32-bit system] or
C:\Program Files (x86) [for a 64-bit O/S]
WinPatrol version 32 creates a new directory, Ruiware, to hold the WinPatrol v32 files.
However, it leaves the BillP directory there --- fully populated with files for version 31.
As such, both versions reside on your hard drive.
Version 32.5, which you used, eliminated the Control Panel removal entry for v31.
[An earlier version, 32.0, leaves the Control Panel removal entry for v31 intact.]
First, confirm that you have both the BillP and Ruiware directories, each populated with WinPatrol files.
If so, simply delete the BillP directory.
Reboot, and see if WinPatrol starts, separately testing each of your two accounts.
If WinPatrol doesn't start up automatically from either/both, navigate your way into the Ruiware\WinPatrol directory, and click on the green WinPatrol icon to start the program. Open WinPatrol, go to the Options tab, and look for the box to "Always start WinPatrol Monitor".
If it's already checked, UNcheck it, wait a few seconds, and then RE-check it.
And if it's Unchecked, simply check it.
Reboot to test.
(If necessary, repeat for both accounts. Hopefully, if implemented on the Administrator, it will pass through for both.)
Thank you, ky331.
Followed your instructions and now both accounts tested and running the correct version 32.5.
Glad to have been of help :-)
Way to go, ky331!
Yes, Thank You ky331! This has generated more email than you could imagine. ;)

Perhaps this explains some things for me. I had assumed that an update of WinPatrol would scavenge old files that would no longer be used. I have some systems to look at. :embarrassed:
