Title: Microsoft Security Bulletin Release for June 2015
Post by: Corrine on June 09, 2015, 06:28:23 PM
Microsoft released eight (8) bulletins.  Two (2) bulletins are identified as Critical and the remaining six (6) are rated Important in severity.

The updates address vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Exchange Server.  Details about the CVEs can be found in the below-referenced TechNet Security Bulletin.

Also released was one new Security Advisory:  Update for Juniper Network Windows In-Box Junos Pulse Client (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/2962393.aspx).

There are some reports that KB3058515, the cumulative security update for IE, is failing (and/or being repeatedly offered) under Win7:

-----------
For what it's worth, I've installed it on about 12 Win7 systems (10 32-bit & 2 64-bit) without encountering this issue.

I had a glitch with one computer. I installed two updates, the IE and mal. malware removal tool.
When I rebooted, it still showed those two updates along with one that had not shown up before. I checked the history twice and both the updates had successfully installed so I unchecked those two and the one I had not seen anywhere. The computer installed the 4 remaining updates. I rebooted and the three I had unchecked had disappeared. Strange to say the least.

One interesting thing ... after updating, launching IE didn't force the pop-up balloon from Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit as it normally does.  Launching FF popped up the notification as expected.  Reinstalled A-E, now the balloon pops up when I launch IE.

I haven't let the updates install yet.  Is it recommended to install all the updates except the problem IE update?  Or just go ahead and hope I'm not affected by the problem?

I had no problems with the IE update on two different systems.

The IE update is one of the first I install because that would get exploited quickly. Don't wait.
I had no problem on 3 of 4 computers and after 2 reboots, the 4th computer was fine.

If you are worried, create a restore point before you install it. If there is a problem after a few reboots, use the restore point.
