If you are still waiting to get the Windows 10 upgrade, Techie helped me put together a collection of major OEMs with links that may be helpful in determining whether your device has been approved by the OEM as supported for Windows 10 upgrade. Thanks much, Corrine and Techie! Actually, I just came here from Security Garden (Corrine's wonderful site) where I noticed the advisory regarding OEM approval, or not. I clicked the Sony link (thanks Techie), and it appears that everything should be good to go, yet Sony is advising to hold off until they test Windows 10 on their various models. (?)
"On June 1, 2015, Microsoft released information about a free upgrade program for Windows 10. This program provides the opportunity to reserve a free upgrade for Windows 10. Customers that reserve the upgrade will have Windows 10 automatically downloaded to their computer on or after July 29, 2015.""
Sony recommendation:
Regardless of the Windows 10 upgrade availability, Sony recommends you WAIT to install Windows 10 on your VAIO® computer, if that is what you choose to do, until after our testing is completed for supported VAIO models.
Upgrade information has been posted to our regional support web sites, and these sites will continue to be updated with detailed compatibility information, upgrade instructions and drivers, as soon as that information becomes available."
Anyway, thanks again for the heads up.
