Title: outlook.com webmail
Post by: plodr on October 18, 2015, 04:36:54 PM
I've been using an outlook webmail address for more than 3 years and yet the title bar still shows I'm on a preview of this. Is there any way to remove the preview in the title?

Note: this does not have any thing to do with previewing email messages because I've turned that off and I simply get a listing of what is in my inbox and other folders.

That means that your Outlook.com account was migrated to the Preview version, likely some time in May or shortly thereafter.  See New ways to get more done in Outlook.com - Office Blogs (https://blogs.office.com/2015/05/21/new-ways-to-get-more-done-in-outlook-com/).

Feedback on the Outlook.com Preview can be provided at UserVoice (login with Microsoft Account).  I've seen where a couple of feedback items I voted for/commented on have been implemented.  Outlook.com: Hot (881 ideas) â€" Got an idea? (http://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/284136-outlook-com)

Thanks. Since I don't have Office installed (I do on my husband's computers but he doesn't have an outlook.com address) and I never use a calendar on a computer or tablet, I guess I'm stalled on preview mode until MS decides to change it on their part.

Yes, until whatever additional changes/bugs/whatever are decided on/worked out, those migrated will continue to have Preview associated with Outlook.com.

I have that "Preview" also but I guess that it does not bother me.  I remember when it began to appear some 4 or 5 months ago like Corrine implied and I thought nothing of it.  I guess as long as Outlook.com works effectively it does not matter too much to me.

I only noticed it because someone at another forum was asking  for directions to remove Preview.
I thought the person wanted to remove the Preview pane when viewing the inbox so I gave directions. Other people also gave directions with screenshots and he/she kept saying it didn't work with no other information.

Several days later, I finally found out the person meant the word Preview in the title bar. A screenshot at the start of the thread would have helped all of us figure out exactly what the person wanted help with.  Truthfully, I didn't notice it before this person asked for help.

I could very well be wrong, but I'm thinking that the Outlook Preview may be coming to an end and the changes will soon be rolling out to everyone with @outlook.com, @hotmail, @live or @msn email accounts.  Important Information for Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007 and 2010 Users (http://securitygarden.blogspot.com/2015/11/important-information-for-microsoft.html)
