Truthfully, I'm tired of fireworks. Ever since the pandemic, idiots have been shooting off fireworks nightly. They buy commercial grade and shoot them off in crowded areas. Last week a vacant row home burned and the city is wondering if fireworks sparked a fire on the roof. The house had to be leveled.
Our town resumed its annual celebration with the largest parade in the area. To watch the town fireworks, all I had to do was walk out to the street and walk a few feet and I was able to watch from there. However, just as plodr indicated, it has been the same here. Although in past years, there has always been people shooting off fireworks, last night was way, way beyond what has ever happened before. It was non-stop from ~6 PM until at least after 11 PM and likely later but I was sleeping then. It had to be so difficult for Vets with PTSD and dogs afraid of the noise.
Here in Austin Texas two houses were lost to fireworks, but thankfully the inhabitants were able to escape.
See " https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/this-is-why-fireworks-are-illegal-in-the-city-of-austin-2-family-homes-go-up-in-flames-july-3/ ".
Addendum, and there were more from early this morning:

That's five houses so far!
Something similar happened in South Los Angeles too.
