Release Notes (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/140.0.4/releasenotes/)
For anyone interested, Version 140.0.3 was an Android release, so don't be alarmed by the skip from .2 to .4
When I opened Firefox this morning, a Firefox "updater" opened and updated without my input. It was very similar to the way Thunderbird updates.
I did NOT have to manually close Firefox to apply the update.
