Turned my windows 10 computer on this morning and it appears that Malwarebytes is no longer blocking advertisements. Is this a Malwarebytes problem or something else going wrong?
Hi, ron350.
My first suggestion is to check your browser extensions to be sure that Malwarebytes AD BLOCKER is still enabled.
How can i check my browser extensions?
Everything i find says to click on a puzzle shaped icon in the righthand corner of the top address bar but it is not there.
On Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome, type edge://extensions in an empty address bar, and hit the Enter key.
With Firefox, follow these steps:
- Click the menu button in the top right corner of the browser.
- Select "Add-ons" and then "Extensions and themes."
- You can also type about:addons in the address bar of a new tab to access the Add-ons Manager.
- In the Add-ons Manager, you can view all installed extensions, even those that are disabled. With Pale Moon, click Tools and select Add-ons.
Personally, I use AdGuard (https://adguard.com/en/download.html).
Thank you. That takes me to a page that shows: From Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store
Malwarebytes Browser Guard.
There is a toggle on the righthand side but I can't turn it on.
If this controls Malwarebytes add blocking, why was it turned off today?
You could try uninstalling and reinstalling it or post the issue at the MBAM forum (https://forums.malwarebytes.com/). I searched the forum and didn't find anything there so, hopefully, you can get assistance.
thanks for the help.
You're welcome. Please let us know the end result.
I must have picked up a virus or something last night that damaged Malwarebytes Browser Guard. It apears to be working again after i clicked on a Repair button.
Mostly watched Tuby movies last night so might have picked up something there.
Thanks Corrine uninstalling and reinstalling Browse Guard would have fixed it but I could not see how to accomplish that.
David and Porthos on the Malwarebytes forum gave me the link that allowed me to repair Browse Guard.

After turnin Brawse Guard on at that link above the extension in Edge-Settings-Extensions had a bright red sentience that said Browser Guard was damaged and there was now a Repair button that fixed Browse Guard.
Now everything is back to nomal with no more advertisements and I wonder what I clicked on saturday night that damaged Browse Guard.
I'm glad you were able to fix it.
