Title: I have only 16-colors and I can't change it
Post by: Mimmi on June 02, 2006, 07:37:22 PM
Hej, hej everybody! Would you PLEASE help me?  :(

I've had the same problem as I had before, a message told me it's something wrong with windows and that I had to reboot. It came up before anything else started.

Last time I had this problem, Die Hard told me to get some kind of update to the graphic-card, I did and everything went smoothly.

As then, I now tryed to update my pc from the homepage of packard bell and the message disappered. BUT this time something weird happend.
Everythingis is bigger on the screen and I can't change the color to something else than 16, there are no more options!

I'm really bad with this computer stuff..... :?
I would be very happy if you please could help me with some suggestions on what to do.

Thanks / Mimmi    :)

Mimmi,
QuoteEverythingis is bigger on the screen and I can't change the color to something else than 16, there are no more options
Right click on your Desk top then click properties and then in the new window that appeairs click the "Settings" tab,
Then change the setting from Medium (16 bit) to the highest (32 bit) then click on the "OK"

Thanks Graphics, but I don't recognize that window of yours.
Did you know that I have ME only?
I'll try to do something in advanced mode in <properties><settings> on the "card"-tab.

Thnx again / Mimmi

Mimmi,

Your display properties should appear as shown in this page (http://www.microsoft.com/enable/training/windowsme/display.aspx) from Microsoft. Select the "Settings" tab and you should be able to change the display size (800 x 600, 1024 x 768, etc) and colour depth (try "True Colour" - 32). Click "Apply" then "OK" - you will be given an opportunity to test them before saving them permanently.

Sorry, I can't speak Swedish so I'm not sure what Die Hard suggested to you previously.

Thanks EtR, but really I was unable to do that!
I made some kind of update on the card-......(something) in <properties><settings>, and when I rebooted everything was normal again and that window suddenly had more options than 16-colors.
So I've changed it to 1024x768 and true color 32.

I want you to know that I really appresiate your help!!!  :flowers:  / Mimmi

Mimmi,

You have to excuse GR@PH;<'S, he is as old as Mephistopheles and sometimes the Brandy gets to him, we keep him around because at his age he has aquired a huge wealth of knowledge (actually he really is a  :Yahoo: great person).
