sometimes when i run ADAWARE SE, when it's done, i get a clearly worded YOU'RE DONE message.
* BUT...
most of the times i get this:
scanning IE Favorites...
Finished.
* by this point, my HD light's stopped flashing.
should i ignore the SCANNING IE FAVORITES message, and believe the FINISHED one?
(i obviously don't want to end a scan before it finishes)
babyoh,
Quotescanning IE Favorites...
Finished
I wait till it says finished as then it is it is done (https://www.landzdown.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsmilies.sofrayt.com%2Ffsc%2Fwink2.gif&hash=026d7c7f666300aa5560f32f726a9d4a87a10844)

it says BOTH:
Finished. AND scanning IE Favorites...
- confusing...
Hi
I realize this topic is a few days old, :blink: but I so seldom can answer a Q, or add helpful comments, I can't resist! So I just have a couple of comments.
I've never seen a "You're done" message in an Ad-Aware scan (SE Personal, free version). All I ever see is "scanning IE Favorites.....Finished". My "theory" is that scanning IE Favorites is the last task performed in the scan, and that its display indicates that task is complete. Maybe I'm just impatient, though. Maybe if I waited long enough, I'd see the "You're done" message; I don't know. In any case, once it says "Finished", and I see the green checkmark in the results area, I close it and move on to my next security scan. And I've never had a problem doing this.
But I agree, it IS confusing, especially for new Ad-Aware users. I wonder if there is a forum somewhere, which serves as kind of a "wish list", where users can offer comments, suggestions, and ideas for improvements in the next version? Having a new window with scan results only, which opens automatically upon completion of the scan is one way I (a person incapable of writing even a simple program) can think of, to reduce this confusion. If nothing else, I would like to have the program close when one clicks on Finish, after the scan finishes, rather than being returned to the Status/Start scan page.
It's hard to complain about such a great program, though! Especially since it's free, lol! I imagine one of the greatest frustrations of writers of such popular programs, is creating features which meet all, or most of its users' wants and needs, while still functioning in its full and intended capacity. All in all, I think Ad-Aware is one GREAT program :thumbsup:.
