i came across a battery backup system thats a bit old but seems to be ok but  i really need to know where i can get a manual, pdf, that will explain some of the symbols/lights to me.
the name is: deltec powerrite max.

fiskers co.
its assembled in mexico but i googled and its sold by a canadian co but no info.
i want it for my old 98se. i have one for my xp but id like to save my 98 from the electrial gremlins too.

Hi eagle  :)

These backup systems are also known as UPS systems (Uninteruptible Power Supplies) (May help with your searching)

I found one reference that shows Deltec UPS and the site has  "Contact Us Button" - They may be able to point you to the manufacturer's site ....

http://www.mycableshop.com/3rd_Level/UPS_Deltec.htm

Try that for a start

Cheers, Totro
