I have noticed that a number of us are subordinate to a form of life that tolerates us only because it cannot use a can opener - Felis Domesticus and I got to wondering just how many of us are afflicted. Are you prepared to admit that you are not top of the food chain?  :sos:

agree 100%

i have to constantly wiggle my thumb at him when he gets cocky and tell him "if you had one of these you could open the cubboard and open your own can, you don't so have to obay some of my rules"

and that usually works till i feel teeth marks around my big toe, or he got all the blankets from the couch

now so people don't get confused ;-)

i am the one with the DOG !!!!
you remember a dog...the "no hairball" friend

this is Mr Bobby's pics

Anyone want a kitten or 2? Maybe the mother? She showed up here last winter. Someone dumped her off. Also picked up one (another one dropped off in the road) about 2 months ago, barely 6 weeks old.
We have these on top of the 6 we already had.

:soapboax: CATS RULE! DOGS DROOL!  :titanic: CATS ARE SMARTER! If a cat and a dog were on the Titanic, when the boat hit the ice berg, the cat would have jumped on the life boat, while the dog would have gone down listening to the band! :muahaha:

This is Sassy, the latest one to be abandoned by my place. We were sitting outside in the shade and found her sitting by our feet. Soory about the poor quality pictures. Used my webcam.

I own 4 animals and they never follow me around and it is'nt because they have no legs and no thumbs...
They did'nt drop on me... and they would never have been found caught on the Titanic... and they'd never bite my toes or steal my blankets.... they don't drool either...
Sooooooooooooo... can you see I have the best pets a goat can own???

Four existentialist but submissive carrots with crunchy green tops - who think they are animal rather than vegetable because of their existentialist thinking ... ?

When I moved from one part of the US to another part 4 and a half years ago when I had to quit working, one of the few possessions that I had room for besides my computer and TV set was my dog. Unfortunately I had to have him put to sleep about a year later and my friends felt sorry for me and gave me one of the outside cats, Bob the one with no tail that I post a pic of on another thread. Another one of them, Runt Grunt also adopted me because I take walks with cat treats in my pocket. LOL They still live outside but they don't stray far from my door.  I also have a cockatiel that is 5 years old that I was told was a male but he/she started laying eggs about a year after I got him/her. His/her name is Java (from the coffee, NOT Sun java).

If our cockatiel is any indication, you will have Java a long time!  Bailey is at least 21 years old.  We got him either late 1989 or early 1990 when someone my husband works with was moving to France & couldn't take him along.  We were told he was 6 years old then.

Carol, the girl that gave him to me said he will outlast me. LOL My health isn't good so I'm sure that is true. My friends here where I live have one named Wille that is over 20 years old but they aren't sure how much over. I am bird/dog/cat/fish/etc.  sitting while they are gone for a few days and one of my duties is to talk to Willie a few times a day. He's got a pretty good voice and sings the Yellow Rose of Texas.

I grew up with different house pets, mostly dogs. :D
Don't know if I dare :P bringing it up in this thread, but personally I refuse to be owned by any house pet , though I like almost all types of animals.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm owned by computers , and that's of course much worse than being owned by a house pet.

I have 2 cats and a dog. My dog is about 11 years old, and is losing his sight. He's completely lost sight in one eye, I have an ointment I put in the other eye daily to slow down the progression in that eye. My cats are 10 and 6 years old, both female.
