Security Alerts & Briefings / Re: Adobe flash 32.0.0.156 March 2019

MajorGeeks was told not to host the files so their links go to Adobe/Macromedia.

I'm always afraid when I do a download from a normal Adobe site that I'll get lots of things I don't want.

I'll just have to remember the first part of the link fpdownload and change the end where the version number is.

I'd better write that down in my notes now.  ;)

This is for Win 7 users who don't get updates as Windows 8.1 and 10 do.
For IE:
Code: [Select]
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/32.0.0.156/install_flash_player_ax.exe
For anyone who uses a browser other than IE, Edge or Chrome
Code: [Select]
http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/32.0.0.156/install_flash_player.exe

Web News / Re: Daylight Saving Time Arrives Sunday in the States
« on: February 24, 2019, 04:29:54 PM »
For the US is starts on March 10, 2019 so 2 weeks.

This is the easier change. I have candles at every window and need to reset 14 timers as well as all the clocks.

Update to Windows 10 was done by the technician, but the Windows is not activated now
I would think that part of the job of the technician when installing a new version of Windows was activating it.

school districts typically have IT support people on staff
Maybe in your state but not in all school districts in our state.

My husband and I drive by the high school where we taught. There is a digital sign on the gym. That sign has been broken for years. It shows the current date but it shows Daylight Savings Time year round because no one knows how to fix the sign.

When computers were dumped in our classroom, we perhaps got a few hours of training. That was it. Teachers were expected to figure out problems on their own. Thank goodness that was before widespread internet usage.

Your choice.
I've found that in the past it wasn't offered for more than 2 weeks so I've gotten into the habit of manually installing.

I have MBAM keys (5 permanent licenses) stored all over the place so I have at least 3 copies, if not more. My first two are so old that the IDs are 5 characters instead of the 10 characters on later purchased programs. Those licenses have moved around on several computers as I took a computer offline and purchased a newer computer with a supported OS.

I've now installed 3.7.1 on all four Win 7 computers. No problems to report.

I installed the new version on one computer. I'm always hesitant because I've had problems in the past.
Before I checked, I opened the information and wrote down the key just in case there would be an issue.

In the dashboard, I click on Settings then in the window that opens, I click on Install Application Updates. It looked, found the new version and downloaded it. Then the popup about a new version waiting to be installed. It closed itself and installed the new version. So far, no problems.

It’s so cold in Chicago that rail crews are using fire to keep trains going!
I saw a picture of that last night on the local news. I never saw anything like that.

MikeW, I think this change is only for Windows 10 users.

I guess the only way I'll know is to disable it in Palemoon and see what happens by keeping my eyes on the address bar.

Loved the cartoon DrM!
Instead of building gas and oil pipe lines, someone should be looking into heat and cold exchange lines. Australia would love some of the US's cold, snow and rain and we'd love some of your warmth and dryness.

Last year, my county had the wettest year in the 150 years that weather records have been recorded. Meanwhile, my friends scattered throughout Australia were suffering one of the severest droughts.

Stay warm or cool depending on what part of the world you are situated in.
