Rest in peace buddy  :(

Boy I just got a scare. I thought I had it fixed and then the main page comes up blank. I fired up Vivaldi and saw a 500 error so I knew it wasn't me but was the website!

I disabled the addons and that did nothing. Then I looked at the address bar, turns out I was using http on the desktop!!! I must have fixed it on the laptop but didn't on the desktop so that was the problem.

Can someone mark solved after my title in this thread? Thanks!

It should actually be redirecting you. I can see that stopped working.

I've just given it a go at fixing that - can you test? E.g going to (both with and without the www at the front) redirects you to the https version?

Hello...Steve surely had to have back-up...right

Potentially but then again you will be shocked the amount of times people say "ahhhhhhh the backups were failing and we didn't know!"

Browser choices are diminishing!
I refuse to install Chrome on any Windows computer and I don't like Internet Explorer.

I guess I'll do some reading. FF ESR is my backup browser and I'm not reading to completely remove it.

As a, perhaps, side topic, what browsers are people using? I am a huge Chrome advocate but I have been noticing it isn't as fast & slick as it once was. I believe it is becoming slower and I am finding weird bugs on some PCs with Chrome

England has a lot to build on, but they succumbed to the dreaded 'scoring too early' affliction.  Croatia was the better side in the second half, and all through extra time.

Although one of the things I was impressed with is the composure Gareth Southgate kept throughout the entire thing. There weren't many times you saw anything but a calm & collected manager.

Jordan Pickford was one of the standout stars for me, what an incredible goalkeeper.

What a shame. I did not think England necessarily could beat France had we got there but I did expect us to reach the final. I think we were the team that tired first but hopefully this is new beginnings for England

Colombia in the office sweepstakes but obviously mainly rooting for England although I think they played terribly against Belgium

Also clear the cache in Firefox. To begin with, we issued redirects to enforce users onto HTTPS, and this redirection will have been cached by your browser. Sometimes they don't get flushed naturally.

Sorry guys, we are in a little bit of disaster recovery. The URLs you were mentioning should now be working.

Open source software is many times a very good alternative. The ones mentioned are popular. Just because it's free open source software doesn't mean it is inferior.

There are millions of people working and sharing the ideas, for various software.

Here is a good link of working listed projects.

I find it's generally the UX & UI that suffers in Open Source software, design is just one of the things that falls to the side in OS project's.

However, look at something like Blender, it can do a vast majority of what 3DS Max (around $4000) can do.

I suspect that Google are just doing what most others would do, and that is to take the user agent that the browser tells it.

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / Re: Windows Vs Linux
« on: March 24, 2014, 08:57:59 PM »
My experience with Linux is a little more limited to just web development, however, I was impressed with how far these distros and tools have come. When I first "tried" Linux it was Ubuntu back in 2006 (Dapper Drake), I wasn't too impressed but thinking back, it's probably more because of the vast difference in UI between it (at the time) and Windows - I had no idea what to do or how to do anything.

Also, OpenOffice had many compatibilities with Office at the time - haven't used it since so can't comment on it now.

I admit, my Linux time is now at the hands of a Git Bash terminal and I don't dive much into the UI of our development VMs (openSuse). Linux (and many tools like Git) has a very powerful command line system!

Use it on my work & home computer and also Lux on my Android phone. (Lux being a 'sort of' port to Android, due to technical limitations a true port to Android isn't possible).

Had no problems here, and certainly makes the screen easier on the eyes.
