Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / Review online
« on: April 24, 2019, 09:19:43 PM »
When I purchase something online or get a sample I am then asked for a review of the product. I then answer all the questions hit the button but nothing happens. The page is never sent. This has happened at Walmart, Amazon & misc sites.

I am sure I am doing something wrong but I don't know what or if there is something missing on the computer, it is about 6 months old.

A reminder I have Windows 10 with Firefox & I am not good on this computer.

As always thank you
Mary

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / Sign in problem
« on: January 10, 2019, 08:49:14 PM »
Corrine, First I want to thank you for the last answer. I have a new problem. I was trying to see what 10 had to offer & signed up to windows that asked for a pin #. I did that but now when I start up instead of saying my e-mail & name it wants me to sign in with the pin.

I think I fixed that but now I still have to sign in with my password. It is just a pain as I did not have to sign in before. I just can't get how to let me go back to the way it was. Not having to sign in ever time the computer starts.

I should not try new things on 10 & it will keep me out of trouble.

Thanks
Mary

Hi everyone,
Got the Windows 10 & I am learning but I don't know what adblock to use. I am getting them on all the sites. I have Firefox.

Also on my printer which is a cheap one, I installed it on the new computer. On Windows 7 I was able to go to the top left & hit print but now I don's see how to do that now. Any help would be appreciated.

 Thanks & Happy New Year

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / A apology & a thank you
« on: December 22, 2018, 09:11:21 PM »
Back in April of this year I asked everyone for help as I could not get on the internet. Corrine, plodr & everyone else tried to help me for weeks.

I stopped going on the computer because we lost our daughter & up till now I just gave up doing  many things.

I wanted to update you that it was my computer as I had it repaired or tried to have it repaired. I have just ordered a new computer which will be a Dell Windows 10. I am not looking forward to learning the 10 but it is something I have to do.

Just so you know on the modem it only has 3 lights not 4 that light. One is dsl & power which is green & the middle light is the ethernet which goes on when I hit the power button. Like I had said we live in a very rural area.

Not only at the end was I having trouble with the internet, I had the keyboard freeze quite a few times. This computer is not that old but I have had lots of problems since I bought it. Hope the new one is better.

Again I just want to thank everyone for their help & please know I did appreciate it.

Merry Christmas

Mary

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / Getting on the internet
« on: March 15, 2018, 07:59:43 PM »
The problem I am having started on Sun. When I turn on the computer on the bottom right hand side there is something that looks like a tv, most times a green circle will turn for a few minutes & then go away. I then can go on the internet. Now the green circle does not turn & after a few minutes a triangle comes up & say no internet connection.

I called my internet provider & they said to disconnect the power & then the internet came on, this was Mon. Tue same thing happened I called back & they sent someone out, he said the modem was not working right. I got a new one he checked it out & said it was good to go. Later that night I tried to go on & same thing happened, called back this morning & they again sent someone out. He said the modem was working fine as he hooked it up to his laptop.

If you unplug the power to the modem box after the triangle comes on then you get a internet connection. He had no idea what is causing this but said on their end it is working fine so it must be the computer.

I have Windows 7 & the tower is 4 years old. It is a Dell desktop. I am not good on the computer so if anyone can help please explain what to do in easy instructions. I have gotten help from you before so I hope you can help again.

Thanks

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / Problem with mouse
« on: June 26, 2016, 09:48:14 PM »
I have a Dell windows 7 desk top that is a few years old. I use a logitech wireless mouse. This is the 2nd day in a row that when I turn on the computer the cursor will not move at all. This mouse is new about 2 months old. I tried a new battery that is not the problem. I had another mouse that I tried & the same thing happened.

I am not good on the computer so the first thing I did was to shut it off & I had to do that by unplugging it which I know is not good. When I plugged it back up still nothing. Checked all the wires & all were good.

I then unplugged it again & when it did come on the cursor worked. I did this yesterday too.

Any idea what is the problem. Please remember I am not good on this computer so if you can help please be patient with me.

Thanks in advance for your help

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / System restore
« on: July 21, 2015, 09:52:48 PM »
When I went on my computer today I lost one of my Bookmarks folders. I know I did not remove that folder. I thought if I went back 1 day with system restore I could find that folder.

When I went to do a system restore it tells me the system restore has been turned off by your system administrator. To turn on contact you system administrator.

I don't know what that means, I need help

Thanks in advance

Computer Problems, Questions and Solutions! / Windows 10
« on: June 01, 2015, 10:06:42 PM »
I have a question about Windows 10. I read you can get this new one for your computer. I have Windows 7 which took me quite some time to get use to. When I was reading about this new one which come out in July it say to sign up now to make sure you get it free. Should I do that & what happens if I don't like the new Windows 10 can I go back to 7. I am not that good on the computer so I don't want to do the wrong think.

As always Thank You for all your help
