Jokes / I like a job like his
« on: September 27, 2010, 02:39:03 PM »
From The London Times:

Outside England 's Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150cars

and 8 buses. For 25 years, its parking fees were managed by a very

pleasant attendant. The fees were cars (£1.40), buses (about£7.00)..

Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing a day of work, he
just didn't show up; so the zoo management called the city council and

asked it to send them another parking agent.

The council did some research and replied that the parking lot was

the zoo's own responsibility. The zoo advised the council that the

attendant was a city employee. The city council responded that the lot

attendant had never been on the city payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain or

France or Italy is a man who'd apparently had a ticket machine

installed completely on his own and then had simply begun to show up

every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated

at about £560 per day -- for 25 years.

Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over £7 million

pounds ....... and no one even knows his name.

LandzDown Lounge / Mouring for BENSON
« on: August 04, 2009, 09:53:42 PM »
Anglers are mourning the death of Britain's biggest common carp after the famous fish was found poisoned in a lake.
The 25-year-old, dubbed Benson, weighed a staggering 64lb (29kg) - more than a large dog - and was worth £20,000.
But the carp was found floating on the surface of Kingfisher Lake in the Bluebell Lakes complex near Tansor in Peterborough last Wednesday.
'Irreplaceable': Angler Matt Ridley holds 'Benson' the UK's biggest carp. The notorious fish has been found dead, leaving the angling community 'devastated'
A quantity of uncooked nuts, which are toxic to fish who swell up because they cannot process them, were found nearby on the bank.

Tony Bridgefoot, 53, the owner of Bluebell Lakes, said that the angling community was stunned by Benson's death.
He said: "This looks like the work of some very irresponsible anglers. We are all rocked by Benson's death. He was an iconic carp.

Jokes / WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED :
« on: October 08, 2007, 05:32:15 PM »
 :hysterical:
Men Are Just Happier People -- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can be President. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth.. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky. You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$ 100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time . !

Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend .

Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck .

You can play with toys all your life. Your belly usually hides your big hips. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife. You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache .

You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes ..

No wonder men are happier .

Send this to the women who can handle it and to the men who will enjoy reading it.  :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical: :hysterical:
