Linux Help, News and Information / Major Geeks Linux Perspective
« on: November 29, 2021, 05:03:22 PM »
It would be interesting to get the opinion of our Linux guru's on the article published on Major Geeks today:  What Is Linux and How to Get Started?.

Another area of interest is MG's opinion on The 12 Best Linux Distributions for Windows Users.  The only distro I recognized from their list is Linux Mint.

Microsoft released KB5007235, the monthly ā€œCā€ release preview cumulative update with non-security improvements and fixes for Windows 10 Versions 21H1, 20H2, and 2004.

IMPORTANT:  Windows 10, version 2004 will reach end of servicing on December 14, 2021. To continue receiving security and quality updates, it is strongly recommended that you update to the latest version of Windows 10.

Note:  Due to the holidays, there will not be a "C" release preview in December.

Microsoft now combines the latest servicing stack update (SSU) for your operating system with the latest LCU. For general information about SSUs, see Servicing stack updates and Servicing Stack Updates (SSU): Frequently Asked Questions.  For information about the types of updates released by Microsoft each month see Windows 10 update servicing cadence primer.

Update: To get the update, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. The link to download and install the update can be found in the Optional updates available area. To get the standalone package for this update, go to the Microsoft Update Catalog website.

Please join me in welcoming a long-time friend and one of the Admins at Scot's Newsletter Forum (SNF).  I met Eric at SNF 18 years ago.

If you have Linux questions, Eric is the one to ask.
