Hard to believe that people actually get paid the BIG bucks to confuse us by changing things.

I have to edit the content I share with my trainees about the history of WD and it's updates. You'd be surprised how few millenials know that WD was once just an anti-spyware software...

Man o man! I have no idea what I would have done if I were not able to contact you at another site, Corrine! I did get your email notifications on my phone but I don't use my phone to reply to anything online unless it is a text and sometimes that even turns into a grammatical disaster.

You'd think that with satellite technology you would be able to have internet contact no matter where you are!

Then again... there are times when you just need to unplug from the world around you to remind yourself of the good 'ol days back when you had to get up off your be-hind to change the channel..

Glad the site is back.... Thank you SpyDie for all that you do.  :)

After I use my MS snipping tool to grab the image, I save it to my desktop then open MS paint to upload there and use the rectangle tool to highlight with red. Play around with it some. It'll take some practice to master it like any other software.

Hi Mary,

I am sorry if you answered this above, but I have to ask...

Who is your internet provider? In your last post you said that the telephone/internet provider switched the cable to a different port on his 2nd visit. Did he turn your computer off then back on again to ensure that your computer did connect before he left.

I would be calling them back and tell them they did not fix it on the 2nd visit and make sure they do not charge you for every time they come out to fix what should have been fixed right the first time.

I think school uniforms are the next best thing to chocolate. (yum)   :P

I guess the decision would be to determine why they did not wear the uniform. Because they didn't want to or because the parents could not afford them.

Definitely a prank. Sometimes I wonder who sets up store displays. The store just down the road from me is set up with electronics in the back. Then to your left it goes into DVD's, then books, then office supplies, school supplies then sporting goods. Guess what the first aisle after pens, pencils, folders, paper etc. is?

Hunting equipment which includes guns, knives and so on. I never could figure out why. They might as well just place sporting goods next to the toy section. ::)

Ugh! I missed the BIG event!

A very happy, Happy Birthday to you Hammy. I am not even going to ask if there is any cake or ice cream left. I am sure that by now the cake is hard as a brick and the icecream is milk.

Hope you had a wonderful day!

The IRS decides to audit Grandpa and summons him to the IRS office. The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney.

The auditor said, "Well, Sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no fulltime employment...which you explain by saying that you win the money gambling. I'm not sure the IRS finds that believable."

I'm a gambler, and I can prove it," says Grandpa. "How about a demonstration?"

The auditor thinks for a moment and says, "OK. Go ahead."

Grandpa says, "I'll bet you a thousand dollars I can bit me own eye."

The auditor thinks for a moment and says, "It's a bet!"

Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor's jaw drops.

Grandpa says, "Now I'll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye."

The auditor can tell that Grandpa isn't blind, so he takes the bet.

Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye.

The stunned auditor now realizes that he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa's attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous.

"Want to go double or nothing?" Grandpa asks.

"I'll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between."

The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there's no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again.

Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily he can't make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he's pretty much urinated all over the auditor's desk.

The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a huge win. But Grandpa's attorney moans and puts his head in his hands.

"Are you OK?" the auditor asks.

"Not really," says the attorney. "This morning, when Grandpa told me he'd been summoned for an audit he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and pee all over your desk and that you would be happy about it."

Well done indeed! I doubt I would have figured that out for myself. Then again I am not familiar with WinPatrol. I really need to install that program and familiarize myself with it since I hear nothing but good things about it. I know several helpers that recommend WinPatrol.

I remember few evenings growing up when my family didn't eat dinner together as a family. That gathering was the "glue" that bonded us a family unit. Dinner was the time for slowing down, sharing stories, discussing the day's events and talking about tomorrow. We'd laugh, we'd listen, we'd encourage each other. As a child, it gave me a sense of unity and stability in that present time, and memories that I carried with me for the rest of my life. I did my best to pass along that tradition when I got married and had a family of my own.

Thanks for sharing Panos.

While we are waiting for quietman7's additional advice, do note that in Pete's link, just before the Comments section, it states:

The only way to recover encrypted files is via a backup, or if you are incredibly lucky, through Shadow Volume Copies. Though Locky does attempt to remove Shadow Volume Copies, in rare cases ransomware infections fail to do so for whatever reason. Due to this, if you do not have a viable backup, I always suggest people try as a last resort to restore encrypted files from Shadow Volume Copies as well.

My son (sigh..) was incredibly lucky... Shadow Explorer worked for me.
