Happy Belated Birthday ky331! :)

It doesn't have anything to do with different operating systems.  Rather, current versions of Firefox use WebExtensions and Pale Moon did not go that route.  Using Pale Moon means that I can continue using legacy extensions that are no longer supported by Firefox but are long-time favorites and make posts on forums so much easier.  With Colt, for example, I can select text and right-click and use the option to copy text and location as BBCode, saving having to manually format.

Thank you for clarification Corrine... :)

Yes I imagine it does get confusing. It would be nice if the software versions could be the same. But I do not think that will ever happen do you? It is one way to decipher an old version to a new version when different OS's are being used? Again thank you for waking me up. ;)

One computer fixed itself. The one that I removed the updater stalled at ...16.
I went here
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock-for-firefox-legacy/releases

downloaded it and it installed with no problem. All four Windows 7 computers are up to date.

Sherry, the legacy versions for old FF and Palemoon are numbered differently than modern Firefox

Oh Thank you for that! I must be off within this thread conversation. Sorry about that.

I am showing uBlock Origin v1.24.4 in Firefox and v1.23.0 in Edge.

Yes it is rather overkill I realize that but I Beta Test Webroot & VoodooShields so I can easily disable them. Thank you for your advise. I'll be back...

Hi @Digeratti,

My ISP had to disconnect the power connector for 60 secs then I plugged it back in. But Tech Support couldn't get the speed up to 100 Mbps even after resetting the modem from her end. My speed test was still 60 so she is sending out support in the morning to check things out to see why I cannot get 100Mbps. So I just went and unplugged the power connector & the coaxial and then I was up to 114Mbps. Because after Tech hungup I still was having issues just getting back online.

Okay I have ESET, Glasswire, & Webroot, & Voodooshields all running on my system. So would that cause the slow browsers benchmarks?

I took the coaxial cable off my Modem for a minute and put it back on. Now my ISP speed is 114 Mbps. So the reset from my ISP worked.

Speedmeter:

MS Edge 77.0
Firefox    33.1
Chrome   44.3

I do have a lot of extensions running in Firefox..but it looks like a run away with MS Edge running Windows 10 Workstation v1909 64bit.

Hi Folks,

I tested my browsers with SpeedMeter 2.0 and Chrome was 38.5, FF 28.0, MS Edge 66.9. I ran this test 3 times and I felt something was wrong with my Internet speed so I did the Speed test and only got 60.99 MPS where I an suppose to be getting a 100MPS which I am paying for. After working with Spectrum they are now sending a Tech out to my house to resolve this issue. Unplugging the modem and resetting did not work. So tomorrow I will do the SpeedMeter again with these browsers.

That's not cheating... Thats being smart. :)
I thought I remembered reading about it I think this past summer.. Not sure if I got the time right... LOL but my memory is still working. :P'
If I remember it was going to be replaced by HTML5 I think and I haven't looked at anything yet.

All in all that was a great question to ask about since there are probably others like myself who didn't know. (Your memory is still working...LOL)

Phishing, Spam and Hoaxes / Re: iTunes Phishing Scam
« on: February 12, 2020, 12:58:01 AM »
Hello... I have a Landlane but my IP blocks all of the Phishing & robo calls...etc. Besides I rarely use that phone. My cell has Call Protection by Malwarebytes.

But it is also great to know there is a Phishing Scam going around...
I also use Malwarebytes beta and it works great. I got rid of my landline 11 + years ago.

I was even surprised when Malwarebytes popped up on my browser using my cell and told me the webpage that I wanted to go on was being blocked for being a Security Risk? It has been awhile since that happened but I knew then I was being protected after all!

Hi Hardhead,

I cheated and looked it up. ::)
Adobe will end support of Flash Player on December 31, 2020. Here's what you can expect in the meantime for each Microsoft browser: In the next version of Microsoft Edge (built on Chromium), Flash will be disabled by default.
