Windows Insider Preview Build 19041.84 (KB4539080) Released to Slow Ring:  Releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 19041.84 to the Slow ring | Windows Experience Blog.

The update is released as a Cumulative Update which includes quality improvements.  The key changes include:
  • Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Windows App Platform and Frameworks, Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows Input and Composition, Windows Media, Windows Shell, the Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Fundamentals, Windows Management, Windows Virtualization, Windows Peripherals, Windows Network Security and Containers, Windows Storage and Filesystems, and Windows Server.
  • We have fixed an issue where in certain cases, after Windows runs a scheduled task during a maintenance window, a PC may get into an unbootable state after installing Build 19041.21 (KB4535550).

Dev channel update to 81.0.416.3 is live

Build 81.0.416.3 is expected to be the last build for major version 81, which means it will soon be released to the Beta channel. 

The build has a long list of added features:
  • Added blue color to the account button in InPrivate windows as suggested by user feedback.
  • Added a tool on the Favorites management page to remove duplicate favorites.
  • Enabled Collections sync for all channels that currently have Collections available.
  • Added the ability to highlight text in PDFs.
  • Added support for web-optimized PDFs that download one page at a time as they’re viewed.
  • Added a feature to Immersive Reader to focus on only one or a few lines at a time.
  • Added a dialog to inform users when an extension is disabled because it has the ability to change settings (new tab page, search provider, etc.)
  • Added a message when a user tries to use IE mode and Internet Explorer isn’t installed.
  • Added support for syncing the “Sign in automatically” setting under edge://settings/passwords.
  • Added an option in edge://settings/profiles/multiProfileSettings to choose a default profile to use when opening links in external applications.
  • Added a management policy controlling the ability to import Top Sites from another browser.
  • Added a management policy controlling the ability to import Extensions from another browser.
  • Added a management policy controlling the ability to import Cookies from another browser.
  • Added a page to Settings to help users download Edge mobile.

The Microsoft February security updates have been released and consist of 99 CVEs. Of these 12 CVEs, rated Critical and 83 are rated Important in severity. According to Microsoft, five of these bugs are publicly known and one is currently under active attack.

The updates apply to the following:  Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Edge (EdgeHTML-based), Microsoft Edge Chromium-based), ChakraCore, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office Services and Web Apps, Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, and Windows Surface Hub.

Adobe has released security updates for Adobe Acrobat and Reader for Windows and macOS. These updates address critical, important and moderate vulnerabilities. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.

Reader DC and Acrobat DC were updated to version 20.006.20034.

Update checks can be manually activated by choosing Help/Check for Updates.
Note: UNcheck any pre-checked additional options presented with the update. They are not part of the software update and are completely optional.


Adobe released Version of Adobe Flash Player for Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS. The updates address a critical vulnerability in Adobe Flash Player. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.

Mozilla sent Firefox Version 73.0 to the release channel today.  The update included seven (7) security updates of which four (4) are high and three (3) rated moderate.

Also released was Firefox ESR Version 68.5.

Update:  To get the update now, select "Help" from the Firefox menu, then pick "About Firefox."  Mac users need to select "About Firefox" from the Firefox menu. If you do not use the English language version, Fully Localized Versions are available for download.

Excellent!  That hasn't happened to me, fortunately since I'm one of the moderators of our town Facebook group with over 9,400 members.  I'd be inundated with notification pop-ups, especially since we approve not only each member but also each new post.

Personally, I have my privacy settings locked down in Facebook and also use F.B. Purity which blocks the garbage I don't want to see.

I dumped the land-line some time ago and only answer my cell if the caller is in my address book.  Easy enough to delete the garbage messages left.

Dev channel update to 81.0.410.1 is live

In addition to fixes and improvements, see the new features.

Added Features:
  • Added a keyboard shortcut to enter Immersive Reader mode.
  • Enabled support for cards saved in MSPay to be used in webpages.
  • Enabled Dolby Vision support for capable devices.
  • Added support on Mac for reading PDFs protected with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP).
  • Added a limit to the amount of text that can be added to an item in a Collection. Note that we are still measuring this limit and may adjust it in the future.

Thanks, satro and plodr.  I made the change for the two Facebook general.useragent.overide entries and it no longer has the yellow banner with "We won't support this browser soon. For a better experience, we recommend using another browser. Learn More" across the top!    ;D
