I accidentally posted 2x. This is the most recent / accurate; I'll delete the other.

No matter what URL is in internet explorer, it gets prepended with something from searchclickads.net,
SO, google.com, looks like this:
http://www.searchclickads.net/adware/php-bin/redirect/redirect.php?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Egoogle%2Ecom%2F&u=36E4FF8B47C54FE8BAA7BD89E7572D6F&r=ventaa&c=us&t=20051123123045

and i get a PAGE NOT FOUND (for google and EVERY url in ie)
----------------
per the instructions here, i ran adaware se, spybot -- and also bazooka.

they caught other things, but this problem has persisted.

here's my logfile. THANKS GUYS!

OK
i did that... now, i get "http://www.google.com" as my homepage -- BUT I STILL GET A PAGE NOT FOUND!   :Win73:

:rose:
i wonder if this is a symantec firewall issue; i set all the settings to HIGH, so i wouldn't get infected again.

i'm pretty sure i'll be able to run i. explorer if I use the XP firewall -- but i think that's how i got infected in the 1st place!

anyway -- here's my new HijackThis log, as requested... Lemme know if anything else looks out of place.

If you blocked google using our firewall or Netscape? then you might get that messaege

It looks like you are running Netscape, have you tried in IE

Have you tried typing in that google url into the address bar

Check your HOSTS file and see if there is an entry in Google for it

your HJT log looks OK
