Fake "System Alert" in balloons/popups (log file included)

After downloading an Active X file that was BAD, I keep getting fake "system alerts" (a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it) and a balloon that says "System Alert: Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx" and some other information that wants me to click the "baloon" (misspelled) to fix it. I also get weird popups that alert me and want me to download fixes from links. I have used Windows Defender, Microsoft OneCare, McAfee, Spybot S and D, Lavasoft SE, and CCleaner to clean up but it hasn't solved this problem. Thank you for any help you can give. New laptop - so annoying!
