Skype announces Fragrance API for Business

Quote"We're just taking things to the next level" said a Skype spokesperson. "Smell is vital to many industries. The Skype Fragrance API gives (SFAPI) developers the ability to securely pass odors over the Internet." eBay should smile as sales rise in categories like perfume, food, used clothing, and new cars. Portal partners, like LavaLove, are thrilled that pheremones can be used at dating sites. Gamers will be able to find enemies in the dark.

Advanced features include fragrance conferencing, fragrance groups, fragrance emoticons and fragrance moods.

Some IT managers are upset. "I can't believe that unapproved smells will be travelling over my network" said one. Several companies are rushing to respond with Smell Killers, deodorant sticks, and air fans.

Well, no, not quite.  The bad luck is those of us on IRC before the physical smell dump has been completed.   :tease:

i've actually heard that before...  don't remember which companies got together to hype the smell module - it had 40 scents that could be combined to encourage family and friends to never visit while you were surfing the net...  overall, the plan stunk and it never went forward...

There was a thread at FL about it a year or so ago.

I had a love/hate relationship with Stop Errors for months 'til I got sorted.

"A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down..."  BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE SHUT DOWN!

"...to prevent damage to your computer."  OH, OH, OK.  Thank you.

Now what was this damage we're preventing???  WHAT dump is going WHERE?????

but in this case, if my OS identified SMELL32.DLL and shut down because of the Chanel No. 5 I was wearing (and that would be No. 19 btw) or I was informed: YOU_STINK_LIKE_WORN_SOCKS I might just be inclined to send off for that Error Report

"YOU_STINK_LIKE_WORN_SOCKS" LOL "Beginning dump of physical smell" ROLF
This thread has just moved into one of my top 5 fav threads at LandzDown...HILARIOUS replies!
