Ghost

hi all,
i turned on the laptop i was working on here: http://www.landzdown.com/index.php?topic=22262.0
to change the display settings but the touch pad does not work on the log in screen. i cant bring up any account and i cant get "turn off computer" to work. however using my mouse all works and the touch pad works just fine once the laptop has booted up.
it is a Compaq Presirao R3000.
i checked event logs but nothing there.
doesnt look like its going to its home in the morning;-(.
any suggestions?

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the touchpad software. Check the Compaq site to get the latest version.
