A very Happy ST. Patrick's Day to all Landzdowners, Irish or not.

Do you know the difference between an Irish wedding and an Irish funeral?

One less drunk.    :Hammys pint:

May you always have work for your hands to do.

May your pockets hold always a coin or two.

May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.

May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.

May the hand of a friend always be near you.

And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

In addition to LandzDown being a security forum, we are also a global forum w/ members representing many countries.

As malware effects us all globally, there are thankfully, anti-malware "warriors"/security professionals from many countries that contribute to assisting computer users, in their free time, not only with guidance and advice should we become victim to some nasty infection, but more importantly how we can become more informed about avoiding an infection in the future.

An amazing community!!!

So for St. Patrick's Day I contacted our most active Irish member (numbnuts) for some suggested songs to celebrate this occassion, and rec'd some good ole knee slappin' possibilities  (go figure), and decided to defer to his better half to expand the choices.
She pointed me to this simply moving Irish ballad which tells the story of an Irish-American police officer in Brooklyn, and how he came to live in New York.

(Thanks Edel   )

I felt sadness, hope, joy, pride and the tenacity of the Irish while listening...check it out:

The Streets Of New York

"...So I landed at Kennedy and a big yellow taxi
Carried me and me bags through the streets and the rain
Well me poor heart was thumpin' around with excitement
And I hardly ever heard what the driver was saying
We came in the Shore Parkway to the Flatlands in Brooklyn
To me Uncle's apartment on East 53rd
I was feeling so happy 1 was humming a song
And I sang 'You're as free as a bird.'

Well to shorten the story what I found out that day
Was that Benjy got shot down in an uptown foray
And while I was flying my way to New York
Poor Benjy was lying in a cold city morgue.
Well I phoned up the ould fella told him the news
I could tell he could hardly stand up in his shoes
And he wept as he told me Go ahead with the plans
And not to forget be a proud Irish man."
