Hi and welcome to the forum  :hallo:

Will it start in the safe mode ?  (Tapping F2 during start up)

What operating system are you using?

What is Make & model?  for instance older Toshiba can have heat issues, actually all laptops can have heat issues as they get clogged with dust resulting in poor air circulation.

See how safe mode works as was said above......

You're only as safe as your last update.

Remove all power, ac adapter and battery. Hold down the power key for 30 seconds, hook up the ac adapter and go to next step.

Is the AC adapter working? Try booting the system, without the battery installed.

This will help eliminate a power problem.

I believe, in order to get to safemode, you have to tap the F8 key, not F2.

F2 or delete key will get you into the bios setup, sometimes F1 is the option, Reset the the bios to default settings.

As stated above overheating is often a problem with older laptops.

Are you seeing a message on screen saying that "....... (something) has terminated unexpectedly and the system will now restart" with a countdown timer that counts down from 60 seconds to zero?
