Just because I just noticed that the link I referred to in the Section LandzDown Forum: A Global Community doesn't work anymore, I give you the right link now: http://www.anorthosisfc.com.cy/history/?lang=en
It's about my football team. My football team is Anorthosis Famagusta. It's the only thing we (the Greek Cypriots refugees) brought from Famagusta, after the invasion of 1974. For anyone who interests.

Well, I certainly didn't wish to push this thread into a political discussion. Sorry if I ruffled your feathers. I was mainly wondering a few things about your current home/economic situation, as you mentioned somewhere in this thread, and I'm paraphrasing, that you "live with your mom and take $400 a month" ... or something like that. Thus, I started thinking about the greater EU in relation to employment and education opportunities that are available to Cypriot citizens who speak Greek. It's an odd thing, yet my Greek wife (from Ano Glyfada) doesn't consider Greek-Cypriots to be "Greek". Go figure.

By the way, my Greek wife is in accord with your feelings that Macedonia should still be part of Greece. With that aside, the Republic of Macedonia (now a country, in fact) gained independence in 1991. Twenty-five years ago.

Back to your initial questions, there ARE opportunities available to make an income on the Net. I know that assertion to be true, as I do it while sitting at home in my underwear and sipping whiskey. The key is finding an angle. I'm an editor, not a pianist or a mathematician. My opinion is that people who dream of income from blogs, Ebay, etc., are chasing their tails. Thus, not good avenues of approach.

Well, I will say again: Greek Cypriot citizens are Greek, not only speak Greek. It's a history fact. During the struggle for freedom,  1955-1959, young people died here in Cyprus for the unity of Cyprus with Greece, singing the Greek Hymn. Ok, at the end the result was an independent country, but this cannot change History. Your wife, must read some Greek History, instead of expressing faulty personal ideas. Well, sorry again, and I hope she is an ex-wife!  ;D  (joke). Please, when you have time, take a look at the links I posted in the previous post.

The name is not Republic of Macedonia anymore. It has been changed since 1993, after hard political struggles of the Greeks all over the world. The name, since 1993, is Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Not a significant change, of course, but at least it is not Macedonia. http://www.greece.org/themis/macedonia/historengl.htm

That's interesting. Can you vote in Athens? Must you serve in the Greek military, like Greeks have to? I'm guessing that you're actually a Cypriot national. The flag of Cyprus is not white and blue.

Yeah, but Republic of Macedonia rolls off the tongue better than FYROM. Those silly Europeans!  ;)

This is the meaning of independent country. Right? History of Cyprus does not start at 1960, the date of independence, but 9000 B.C. and nobody can delete any letter of it.

As I said before, every Greek Cypriot has these two things written on his/her identity card: Nationality: Greek. Citizenship: Cypriot.

Do you also know that our National Hymn is the Greek one???

And do you know that in every public building in the free Cyprus (because 38% of it is under turkish occupation) there are three flags fluttering??? The Greek, the Cypriot and the EU?

I could say much more, but it's late right now, and I'm going to sleep. Except for the following:

Cypriot national??? This is not only the most stupid thing I read in this Forum, but it is also a clear insult. Nationalists are outlawed, they are not even 4% to be in the Parliament. I am nationalist because I know my history?? I am proud for being a descendant of Tefkroσ and Evagoras, who came from Greece to Cyprus and build our cities, after the Trojan war, many handreds of years B.C.!!! Here we are talking about the struggle of an island with 200 000 Greek refugees, in their own country, hundreds of killed people, 1619 missing persons, since 1974, and this is not a problem for you, and the problem is that we are Greeks because a lady said we are not? Well I am sorry. I applied links from the Ministry of foreign Affairs, not from Wikipedia!!! They are official links. Every government in the world uses them as benchmarks, recognize our civilization, and the historical road of our people. If you read them and you still see the things from that point of you, I am very sorry. It's your issue, not mine.

As for ''the silly Europeans'', what's this??? A kind of irony??

I don't want this debate be continued. So, I am asking Corrine or anyone else of the administrators to close it. It is offensive to me and to all the Greek Cypriots.

Ok, this has gone way off topic.  Closing thread.
