Two Quickies

 :rose: Sorry i'm asking so many questions tonight...
1) a friend of mine NEEDS to generate a hijackthis log. she's scared to (computer-phobic).
i had no problems, but i run XP and she runs an earlier OS (not sure what one).
is the process the same? no hidden traps, incompatibilies, issues with HiThis & earlier OS's?

2) i use various browsers (cuz i design pages; need to see how they look).
some WILL NOT open links that open a new window (the target="_blank" ones)
--- i googled, and some people are adament that it's preferable to have links open NEW WINDOWS!
what on earth am i missing here?
  ** (this was especially a concern for people who want to SELL us stuff -- do they think the absense of a back button, will confuse into BUYING things?) **

i just didn't get it; they all seem to know the dangers of these pages not opening, cuz they're blocked as popups.
i don't understand the appeal of forcing new windows on surfers at all.

anybody explain it to me??

quickie answers ;-)

1. should be no trouble getting hjt to run and get a log to post !!!!

2. just the browser wars all over again....IE and mozilla do some thing different, and moxzilla says they are w3w and we both know IE is just Windows compatable, non standard !
( like coding background music  it will play in ie only !)

and with firefox and "noscrips" i feel your pain !!!!!!!
i go back to netscape 1.1 and remember that happening and could not go back anywhere, just that page and i went balistic( this was in the old days of $5/hr for dialup
