I had problems with my laptop, called Hughes my server.  They took over my PC and laptop. My laptop was repaired.  After they finished I discovered my Internet Explorer wasn't working on my PC. What else they did I guess I will discover later. I have done a system restore and that didn't help.  Can you help me?  I am using Windows 7. Thanks, Charlene

This is what system restore told me.....
System Restore failed to replace the file (C:/Windows) with its original copy from the restore point.
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (9x80071a90

What version of Internet Explorer did you have installed -- IE7, IE8 or IE9?

I finally called Dell since it was a software problem.  It cost me an arm and a leg but I got it fixed.  Ya'll are a great bunch.  Thanks so much!

I hope they didn't just reinstall IE but glad you're all set.

I recommend that you make a system repair disk and an image disk so that if you have to restore your laptop and you find that for some reason your restore points have gone at least you will have your restore disk's in a safe place.

To make a system repair disk put a empty DVD into your disk drive then click start then control panel then click system and security scroll down and click on backup and restore.
Now on the left of your screen click on create a system repair disk then do as the prompt tells you.
Also create a complete system image.
