Fridge not working

 When I came home from golfing today, the wife left a note on the fridge:

It's not working,  gone to stay with my Mother.  I can't take it anymore.

I opened the fridge, the light came on, and the beer was cold.

What the heck is she talking about?

A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.
