Bill told me about this some time ago but it was confidential so I couldn't share.  He posted the following in the WinPatrol Group in Facebook group today:

This isn't exactly the way I'd like to share this news but there isn't really a good way. Some of you know, I've struggled with serious family health issues for the past few years. Thanks to the support from many and her positive attitude my wife has overcome many challenges. Not surprisingly, my own health has been impacted and it poses some unknowns in the near future. While long term expectations are positive, the time I expected to devote to WinPatrol this year will be limited.

I have initiated talks to transfer permanent control and operation of WinPatrol. I hope this will happen soon so there isn't a disruption in support and services to existing WinPatrol fans.

I am still open to other innovative ventures especially those who can offer WinPatrol fans additional protection. You might be surprised at how little it would cost to be a successful software provider with an established brand. I expect who ever takes advantage of this opportunity will be someone I would recommend and I will be available as needed.

Until I find some one who appreciates the WinPatrol fan base I will continue business as usual including the beta of a 64 bit version as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Bill Pytlovany

Sorry to hear about the family challenges.  I sure hope he finds a kindred spirit to pass WP on to that will carry on with equal the passion and commitment he has given to the project.

Wow...life can be a real bear at times. So sorry to hear that news.

I am sure BillP will do what is best for his WinPatrol users. I am sure he would not sell to someone who would turn it into something we all would consider to be a bane like other malware/PUPs, etc....

I wish all the best to BillP and his family during this very hard time.

Very sad news indeed. From the time I was on Facebook, I was aware that Cindy had health issues but I was not aware that Bill also had problems.
I have every confidence in Bill doing everything possible to support his numerous fans.
My sincere good wishes for the future go to Bill and his family during these difficult times....

Sorry, gentlemen, I completely left behind any small knowledge I had with Lotus Notes development, SQL Server and the specialized legal applications I worked with while at Kodak.

Bill is looking for people who are highly ethical for the program.
