Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit and Trojan Hunter Guard

Good morning,

Either I am the only one asking questions or I am dumber than my wife has been telling me for the last 50 years or so ...lol

I am currently running Windows Defender as my antivirus, Windows Firewall as my Firewall, Super Antispyware (free), Malwarebytes Anti-malware (Free) and prior to upgrading to Win10 a week ago I had also used Spyware Blaster but now I see it doesn't support the Edge Browser so I'm not using it anymore.

I used to run Trojan Hunter Guard  on my computer but because it clashed with a previous Antivirus program I had stopped using it. 

Also, recently I started using Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit.  My question is can I use both of them or would they clash with each other.

Both of what? If you mean Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (MBAE), then yes, you can run both at the same time.

But, you said you have already started using MBAE so I wonder, have you been experiencing "clashes"?

I don't know. You can try it and find out, if you like - then if it causes problems, uninstall THG. But if me, I would not bother with Trojan Hunter. Windows 10 is not XP. You don't have to apply layer after layer of security with W10 to be secure. I only use WD, WF and MBAM, I keep Windows updated, and I don't click on unsolicited downloads, attachments and links.

The biggest problem today with running two security programs at once is it hogs your system resources, bogging down your computer's performance while providing no real added value.

Makes sense to me. 

I will just stick with what I have and forget about reinstalling Trojan Hunter.

Now ... off to do some serious "honey-do's" ....lol

I would install the free version of MBAE and try that first.
The paid version offers extra protection but if the free one does not interfere with anything the paid version won't very likely do it either.

Hi Metallica,

I decided to just go with MBAE and drop Trojan Hunter Guard because when I had them both going one or the other would not let me change sites with Edge.  I like the way MBAE is light on resource use so I'll stick with it.
