As this is the second Tuesday of the month, there will be one security monthly rollup for Windows 7 and 8.1 as well as Server 2008 and 2012.

Another change available this month is a preview of the new Security Updates Guide.   Instead of publishing bulletins to describe related vulnerabilities,   the "Security Updates Guide" includes the ability to view and search  security vulnerability  information in a single online database.  After  the January 2017 Update Tuesday release, bulletins will be eliminated  and the information will only be available from the new Security Updates  Guide.  Additional information about the guide, described as a "portal" by the MSRC Team in Furthering our commitment to security updates.

Microsoft released fourteen (14) bulletins.  six (6) bulletins are  identified as Critical and eight (8) rated Moderate in severity.

The updates address vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Services and Web Apps, Microsoft SQL Server and Adobe Flash Player for Windows 8.1 and above.  Addressed in the updates are Remote Code Execution, Elevation of Privilege and Security Feature Bypass.

Information about the update for Windows 10 is available at Windows 10 update history.

That proved an interesting download. It took longer than usual hung at rebuilding your desktop for long time, and then booted into a strange desktop dominated by windows logo and a message we have created a temporary account, you will not be able to reach your files. BLA Bla and then contact you network administrator for help.

Two reboots later and several cuss words it finally booted properly.

I guess your Windows 7 definitely wasn't happy with the cumulative update.  :(

I'm just hoping its a one off Corrine, but not with any real conviction.

I wait at least a week on all Windows 7 computers to do any updates. I read what Susan Bradley and Woody Leonhard have to say. Then I wait to see what sort of problems are posted by others.

When I'm convinced that the computers won't hiccup, I install the security only update. Form looking over all the November bulletins, it looks like the security only bundle has 8 items in it: 4 critical and 4 important.

I guess I'll compare sizes to see if I can figure out the difference between KB3197867 and 3197868.

I looked at the sizes at the catalog:
32 bit (security only) 52.5MB   (other bundle) 82.3MB
64 bit (security only) 88.0MB   (other bundle) 133.9MB
