Hello all,

First, I'd like to thank anyone reading this who'll take a crack at solving my issues.  I've had stability issues with my PC for a few months now (lots of rebooting), but only recently I've had a new issue of 70-100% CPU usage for the first 30 minutes or so after logging in, keeping me from doing anything prdcutive in that time.  The main CPU culprit is LSASS.exe, bu I can't find anyone else with the same issues - just old Sasser worm stuff, which I don't think is me.    I'm using XP SP2, with 512k of RAM, and run NAV Corporate and ZoneAlarm Pro.  I've an Aardvark sound card for years, and only downloaded SpeedUpMyPC and SpyEraser after these problems started.  BTW, S.U.M.PC find a bunch of things it wants to correct that CC Cleaner and SpyBot didn't, but I don't trust it enough to pay for it.

I've been on the internet with this PC for years, and this is the worst it's ever been... Help!

And thanks!
Jonathan

Hi, enjoyingmylife.  Welcome to LandzDown Forum.

First and foremost, you need to install HijackThis in a permanent folder.  Otherwise, any removals will be lost when temp files are cleaned.

I have a couple questions.  First, what is "S.U.M.PC" that you referred to?  Second, did you place http://www.listen.com in the "trusted zone"?  Have you had Dragon on your computer for long?  It uses a lot of memory and can really slow things down.

Let's try something.  After you install HijackThis in a permanent folder (i.e., C:\Program Files\HijackThis, navigate to that folder and right click on HijackThis.exe.  Rename it to something else like MyHJT.exe (keeping the extension).

Please reply with a fresh renamed HijackThis log and answers to my questions.

Thanks.
