Will try to make this as brief as possible since I'm using my phone. A few weeks ago, I could no longer access Landzdown through my FiOS router and thought the site had died. After a lot of trying various ways to pinpoint the fault, I'm convinced it's Verizon's problem, not mine. Cannot access Landzdown with my desktop or my laptop or my smartphone on Wifi, using my M1424 WR Rev D router, but obviously can access Landzdown on my smartphone using 3G. My daughter in another town cannot access Landzdown on the same model router through her FiOS. My next door neighbor can access Landzdown Through his FiOS using a newer router, Actiontec M1424 WR Gen2-E.
Seems to me the issue is with Verizon's outdated router and a change that was made on Verizon's end several weeks ago.
Anyone having similar issues?
I've reset my router four times, flushed computer, etc. Please don't point the finger at me. Done all I can do to prove it ain't my fault. Explain why daughter and son with same setup have same problem
insight needed

Lena,
It has been quite these last few weeks without you and we all sorry you are experiencing difficulty reaching us.
You say that your next door neighbor can access Landzdown Through his FiOS using a newer router, Actiontec M1424 WR Gen2-E.
Would he be willing for you to take your Laptop around his to see if you can connect to his network then you would know for sure that you need a new router.
You may need a firmware update for the router that you are using but talk nicely to the chap next door.
Bribery some times helps

A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.

We are on good terms and he might even let me hook into his wifi with my smartphone.

Lena,
It is just a thought as if your Laptop /PC or your smartphone would once and for all prove if it is your Router thats at fault but be peeped to go SHOPPING  :mitch:

Good idea GR@PH;<'S!

Lena, see if you can use your laptop at your neighbors since you know you cannot connect here with your laptop.

BTW, I checked the firmware version of the router and it's the latest as shown on the Actiontec website for Verizon M1424 WR series 4.0. 16.1. 56.0. 10.14. 4
the firmware update was available 5/5/11, about the same time I lost the ability to access Landzdown.

My router must have been set to automatically update to the latest firmware because I had never done anything to the router settings prior to this incident. My last excursion into the settings show that automatic updates have been disabled. I think the last Verizon remote reset did that. So I did not save any prior firmware version.
As one who has never even paid for an app, I am not about to pay for a new router when the problem is clearly Verizon's fault. Buying a new router so that I can access one website that appears to be blocked by my router (and for others using the same model router) would be like buying a new car because I have a ding on the door of my present car. It is no longer worth the effort to fight the incompetence of Verizon. I plan to leave well enough alone and live with the ding in my router.

GR@PH;<'S

Lena,
Have you asked the chap next door if you can try his.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!  Corrine had a link to Landzdown regarding WinPatrol and I clicked on it and got right back to Landzdown.  Haven't done anything on my end to fix the problem, so it was indeed Verizon or somewhere else up the line where the snafu existed.  Anyone need a spare antique FiOS router?

The problem seems to have moved north.  A friend in Canada is now having the same problem reaching here.  Can reach other sites, but not here.  Did all the usual trouble-shooting.  Ping times out.  ISP is suspect since it has been plagued with fiber issues lately.
