Outlook.comâ€"out of preview and better than ever - Office Blogs

Quote
The new version of Outlook.com is now out of preview! We’d like to  thank all of the users who gave us feedback during the preview period,  as we fine-tuned and refined the new Outlook.com infrastructure powered  by Office 365. Now we’re taking the preview label off and rolling out  the new experience to users worldwide.

What does this mean for you?

  • If you’re not an Outlook.com user yet, sign up today to get the new version in the North American regionâ€"and soon in other parts of the world. We’re confident you will love it.
  • If you are currently using Outlook.com, you’ll get these upgrades  soon. With the preview phase complete, we are rolling out the new  experience to millions of users each week. You do not need to take any  action to get the upgrade, and all your settings and data will be  automatically transferred.

Just keep in mind that the servers are grouped into hundreds of clusters and only one cluster is upgraded at a time.  Thus, it may take a while for the change to reach your account.

Gee it only took my email account 3 1/2 years to get rid of that word preview in the title!  ;)
That's the longest preview of anything I've ever seen.

Welcomed to Outlook Preview on August 2, 2012 and out of preview Feb. 17 2016.

Truthfully, other than that word removed, I notice no difference.

Then there is definitely something off.  The current preview wasn't made public until mid-June, 2015.

Does it show Outlook.com or Outlook Mail at the top?
Does it have "View all" on the left and "Arrange by" on the right or "Inbox" on the left and "All" on the right?

Outlook Mail without the word preview that was there before.
Inbox on left and All on the right.

I don't have Office installed on this computer. Would it be different if I did?

Yes, that is the newly released Outlook Mail but it absolutely has not been in preview since 2012.

Here's the welcome I got. The only change I made was to erase my name in the To field so only @outlook.com shows. (I'm careful about keeping my email addresses off the internet)
You can see to the far right that the date is 8/2/2012.
Sorry it is so tiny but the date really is 8/2/2012.

I finally got smart and did a search for "Outlook.com Preview +2012". It appears you got "stuck" in the 2012 preview when Outlook.com was introduced.  Before that it was Hotmail.com.

Looks like I got in on the ground floor.

I probably did that because I read about outlook and discovered that my old hotmail account no longer worked.

Yes, but that Preview was released and isn't the same one that was made public in 2015 and just came out of Preview.  It shouldn't have continued showing "Preview" all this time.  Very, very strange!

I wasn't the only one with the word Preview showing in the title all the time. Someone asked about getting out of Preview in one of the forums I go to and I discovered that they actually meant the word in the title.
I said, get used to it because it has been that way for me for a long time.

Perhaps some of us were forgotten about? We were on some obscure server?
