It did. The very sec I disabled Live protection in Spybot, the Windows Defender realtime protection was on. I didn't even have to reboot.

I'm so glad the problem was finally solved!

There are differing opinions on version 3, most seem to agree that it was released from beta too soon, particularly based on the issue some people have run into.  Also, the separate exploit program is now part of Malwarebytes Premium, although still available for free users of MBAM 3 as a beta.

I'd hold off on upgrading to MBAM v3.  You've been through enough without risking more ...  8)
