I´m not sure how to correct this, reading the error messages it could be a corrupt driver to your modem, the "scm.exe" being corrupt or "svchost.exe" not working properly, or being shut down for some reason.
See if you can uninstall and reinstall the driver for your modem, if that helps. If not, we´re out in deep water  :blink1:
Prepare yourself for doing a fresh install of your Windows, I´m beginning to think that is the easiest and safest way to correct this. Backup all your important data to CD:s.
But do not reinstall yet, I have to have a second opinion on this first.

Diehard, All I can say to that is DAMN.....Although I Think I can narrow down the problem as I do not seem to have a File on my computer Called Scm.exe, beyond that there is no specific modem card in the tower, Hooks to the net via On-board Lan port. Sadly I highly doubt I can prepare for a fresh install CDBurner doesn't burn, just reads think the data transfer from the computer to the burner is to fast very old burner.  But I have an Alternative To burning the data . THe Secondary Hard drive is 200 gigs so it should hold any and all important information I need to keep. I'll get to work on archieving. I hope we can think of somthing else though windows is never fun to install.

Diehard I had an Idea and I am not sure the viability of it, but what about un-installing service pack two and re-installing it ? Do you think that may blanket or remove the problem Or do you believe the main fault is the in the Original Xp pro Files ? If it is the Core files set up by XP on initial instillation Then something must have corrupted the data of the files thus what could we do to prevent this Calamity from happening again in the new installation ?

Uninstalling and reinstalling  SP2 could be worth a try. You will then have the fresh files from SP2 and that might do the trick .
Please come back and tell the outcome :)

Well Diehard, I am officaly in Windows Hell. I supposedly have Xp Service Pack 2 however I am unable to uninstall it, via any method that I know or that Microsoft has in its entire database. I have removed every update XP has installed hoping that would force it to locate all the files that were updates to service pack one to force an instability in Sp2 that would cause it to no longer be. So it appears the only way to go about repairing this massive hell is to Wash-Rinse-Repeat with millions of Zeros till my master hard drive sparkles. Then re-install the bane of my existence and hope this time is survives. So for Now till I can get Xp up again this may be good bye. Thank you for all your time and effort in this matter man, you tried your hardest to help me and I really appriciate it.

Diehard, I am alive and I don't know why, After I uninstalled all the windows Updates and Windows is slowly feeding them back I have not seen movement one from the problem. Not sure why but I am hoping it was somthing that joined with the Microsoft updates I removed. Anyhow wanted to tell ya it seems gone, I hope it is. Anyhow Gotta run for a bit.

That´s good news I´m glad d to hear

No matter how much MS tests the patches before release, there is always a small possibility that just *your* configuration of programs and software isn´t compaible with it.
I cross my fingers
