so... what browser do you use??

i've abandoned ie 6 (and previous versions) xcept when browsing microsoft.

currently i've ff 1.5.0.6 and opera 9.01

i've been browsing with ff for about 2 years and just got back to opera last week.

opera has some really neat stuff, such as when you hover over a tab, it displays a thumbnail of the site.

so what do you use and like about that browser?

Corrine

I'm definitely a Firerfox fan.  Agreed that most find Opera faster and it also has tabs, but I need my BBCode extension.

Have you noticed an increase in speed of page loading with Opera?

Temmu,
I use both IE7 (Beta) & FireFox but must say that FireFox does seem to have the upper hand so although IE7 will be released very shortly I am sure that there will still be hords of computer users all over the world moving away from itin favour of FireFox (ETC)
so it may be or for IE7.

Q: does it work
A: It does seem to for a few hours at least.

Firefox here, love it. If I can help it I am sticking with IE6, since it is only used when I need Windows Updates for example.
Beta. Software undergoes beta testing shortly before it's released. Beta is Latin for 'still doesn't work.'

babyoh

i'm a major FF AND Opera fan... but i find there are pro's and con's to using each.

an interesting link, related to this subject:
FIREFOX MYTHS
http://www.webdevout.net/firefox_myths.php
- (the section on Security vulnerabilities, seems to make out that OPERA has the LEAST vulnerabilities. "The information was collected from Secunia, a leading computer software security monitoring company. This information was last updated August 25, 2006.")

* here's a link on IE 7 still not supporting CSS satisfactorily:

* This link:
http://www.webdevout.net/browser_support.php
is about how the browsers support web standards.

i don't know if it'll make alot of sense to people unfamiliar with HTML or CSS -- but, it helps explain why different browsers display the same page code in different ways.
ALSO: most developers design pages for IE, since it's the most popular browser. but SOME others take advantage of CSS functions that render in Opera or FF but NOT IE. and THOSE pages, are much more interesting to view in a browser capable of reproducing the effects.

(this is kind of a silly example, but it's all i can think of right now... the CSS pseudo-element ":after" is used by kids on myspace to change "joey has 28 friends" to "joey has 20 BILLION friends.")

just one dumb example, and i'm not an expert on this -- but i keep reading about the frustration developers have, wishing IE would implement more CSS / XHTML standards.

SpyDie,
you may find that you will get it as
QuoteMicrosoft will deliver the next version of its Internet Explorer (IE) browser to consumers via its Automatic Updates
