Got any ideas for the SlickPro graphite theme?  The LandzDown logo doesn't work with it.  It looks like we're losing our Spyware Cooker too.   As you can see from the lists below, all of the other themes have at least the LandzDown name, even though not all have the Spyware Cooker.

Both "LandzDown Forum Logo" and the Spyware Cooker:

You know I didn't look at the other themes until now, lots to choose from.

There are image size and file type differences in some of them. I take it there is no space for the 'cooker' on the right hand side of the SlickPro theme ?

This is what's there now 358x91 ( jpg ).



I usually see .gifs up there though for the screen resolutions.

I'll have some fun, hope I'm not the only one.......................... :help:

It could be too big.  I don't know if SpyDie tried it there yet.

The spyware cooker does look better since SpyDie replaced with GR@PH;<'S original.

Right, with a little bit of testing I was able to get it kind of work. You are right narov, there are size differences and those two new themes will only allow 1 logo, whereas the Babylong & Default theme allow 2.

Slickpro theme now has one of those blanks in place for the logo. :)

I would think anything used on Slickpro would look best as a transparent gif.  (Well, I expect that would be best for all of them, actually, making it easier to use from theme to theme.)

I posted the blanks in case anyone wanted to get an idea of the size or have a try at it.

You can have a transparent gif Corrine if you just want a static or flashing pic, it's kind of an all or nothing so if you want the fading text like you have now you'll need some kind of background.

I was fooling around with this idea, only thing is it's 236 Kb. I can get it smaller by cutting the quality.

Nice banner/logo.  It's kinda drab colors, but I guess if the Slick skin is black n' white that's the way to go.  It would sure be nice if we could have the cooker in there too.

So I take it with one or 2 of the new themes, we get a banner/logo or cooker, but not both?
I just had a peek at the changelog in the Forum Upgrade thread and it sure made things alot clearer for me

Are we still looking for ideas, and for which themes?  This looks like it could be a bit of a jigsaw puzzle...seems like a person ought to be able to make one whole forum header that fits all the themes, w/o loosing the name, cooker, or our slogans.

HOWEVER! It would appear that these 2 new themes, SlickPro & Dilber Multi-Color, are not just a difference in viewing preference but actually provide more functionality for the forum member.  The 2 big things I notice are A WHOLE 'NOTHER CATEGORY at the bottom called Recent Posts that the other themes don't have.  And then if you choose Dilber in My Profile, at any time, anywhere in the forum after that, you can go up and choose one of MANY colors.  And these color choices are NICELY DISPLAYED OUT, so that any of these colors are not overbearing and pleasing to the eye.  That is NICE!
Now there might be more functionality improvements that I haven't noticed yet, with those 2 new themes, but those are clearly worth noting!

However, if I was a webmaster, I'd be noticing that less than 30 ppl are using a theme other than the default theme, not to mention that any guest that views the forum gets "the default theme," as well, right? 

I personally LOVE the cooker and the slogan attached to it.  I don't know who designed it, or whether it was created from SpyDie's avatar...but I like the way it is associated with LzD, cuz...well it doesn't need to be spelled out.
But the Landzdown name and fading text logo, couldn't it be manipulated to say the same things, but maybe smaller or less flashy, but allow LzD name, logo, AND COOKER in all the themes?  SpyDie?

For instance, if you wanted something new like what narov put up that can be used in the SlickPro theme, (as far as the LzD name/logo) why not use it for all the themes.  i.e., instead of black text/grey-bluish backgrnd, change it to a black or darker background, and use a white/silver text for the name of LzD.  It would then maybe work for the default theme or Babylon, as well as the new ones?

And then, if it were possible to get that cooker in the 2 new themes as well, I'd even want to consider changing the LzD fading text (Welcome...security as a priority...learn and share...give and receive...etc.) to an orange or red color text, as I think it would look SWEET with the default theme, which the majority of ppl seem to be using...AT LEAST UNTIL THEY HAVE THE TIME to explore these 2 new themes.

Maybe the reality is that most ppl will continue with the familiar default or Babylon themes, (I know I like the familiar), and I would think that is what a webmaster designs for, but I for one appreciate SpyDie's time in expanding forum options for the members. 

Given the Forum Headers I've seen narov create and used elsewhere on this www, and these forum upgrade changes, I just wonder what ideas are going to be put forth next? 

Ppl, when ya get the time, try out these new themes.  Go to the top and choose My Profile> Layout Preferences>Current Theme: Change>then Use this Profile>under SlickPro or Dilber Multi-Color.  I'd be interested to see how you weigh in on this topic.

The DilberMC theme has got alot of great ratings from tons of other people. I love it but I'm used to the Forum Default so have stuck with it (and yes you are right a Guest get's the 'forum default' unless I make the default Theme something else).

The logo was indeed made from my avatar. I've had this avatar since being at LS, and it was decided the logo was to be made from my avatar because I own the site and as soon as Lavasoft shut down it's forums, we all moved here. (Which then became a public forum)

The Recent Posts....you CAN have that on the other themes, I just never noticed it. It was there by default on the DilberMC & Slickpro theme, if it is wanted I can activate it in the other themes too?

There is a logo being created by GR@PH;<'S, which does indeed incorporate the cooker etc into one.
